Frequently asked questions

What to know before you practice

Is Virtual CDL Simulator a written-test question app?

No. It is an interactive procedure-practice tool with simulated gauges and cab controls.

Can it replace CDL school or real-truck training?

No. It supplements qualified instruction, official manuals, and supervised hands-on vehicle practice.

Which procedures are currently available?

The current module covers Class A combination-vehicle in-cab air-brake practice: air gauges and governor behavior, applied leakage, low-air warning, and spring-brake activation.

What is the difference between Learn, Practice, and Test?

Learn provides guided instruction, Practice reduces guidance, and Test removes procedural instructions.

Does Test mode show the correct next step?

No. An incorrect or out-of-order action ends the attempt without revealing the correct next step.

Is the simulator available publicly?

The Android app is available on Google Play. The iPhone and iPad app is available on the App Store. View app links.

Does it guarantee that I will pass?

No. The simulator cannot guarantee a test, licensing, or training outcome.

Can procedures differ by state or vehicle?

Yes. Wording, order, figures, controls, and expectations may differ by jurisdiction, manual edition, examiner, and vehicle. Always follow your current official manual and qualified instructor.
